In this episode DOM Matt Singleton speaks with Ernie Rice who served as a missionary in Haiti before having to return home due to safety and health concerns. He is a member and deacon at FBC Stockdale. In our conversation we covered the fascinating background on the country of Haiti, how voodoo is used more like a tool than a religion, the recent and troubling failure of government that has given rise to gang violence, and how the devastating earthquake of 2010 initially brought in Ernie through the work of Texas Baptist Men (now Texans on Mission). Towards the end Ernie shares how listeners can support the ongoing work in Haiti through "Good for Haiti," a 501c3 non-profit.
